Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - R - Review
I’d try to tell you what this movie is about in a few short sentences but I can’t. Partly because that would be really hard to do with this movie and also because I’m still not to sure about certain parts of this movies still. Although I can tell you this deals with British Espionage during the cold war and having to hire a spy of there own to go into there own service to up root a double agent (I think). That sounds about right. Having said all that though I would watch this again one because I’ve probably missed something and two the acting power in this is ridiculous. Gary Oldman (Harry Potter, Nolan’s Batman Trilogy) also known as Commissioner Gordon, Colin Firth (King’s Speech) those 2 alone should be getting you to want to see this movie.
Excellent screenplay partly based off of a book. The movie although confusing at times felt like it was moving and pulled you into it. The acting done by everyone in the cast was excellent.
Part of the confusion with this film is the fact that it takes a little while to realize that there doing flashbacks of sorts but because the time frame was so close there wasn’t any change between the actors so it was really hard sometimes and takes a while to recognize your watching a flashback. So this almost became somewhat of a frustration to this movie until you figured out what was what.
If you don’t have about 2 hours to sit down and really concentrate on a film. This film just isn’t for you this film almost demands that you watch everything and don’t miss a scene because you will miss something that was important. That can be good and bad. Good if you love movies like that bad if you can’t concentrate for that long. Overall though if your into espionage thriller/mystery movies this one’s for you. That is if you have the time.
